B is for Books

I would love to be paid to read books all day...

I love everything about books. From the way they look, smell and feel to how they instantly make me feel sophisticated and mature just by carrying a bundle of them in my arms.

As much as I love books, I am not a book snob. I don't care what genre you are into whether it be Young Adult, Fantasy, Non-Fiction or Sci-Fi. I don't care if you read paperbacks, hardbacks or use a Kindle. All I care about is getting more people reading in order to eliminate the stigma that you are boring or "uncool" if you read.

In my eyes, people who read are beyond awesome! And I'd rather associate myself with those who I can discuss books with than with those who can drink me under the table.

  1. I like the that paper-y fragrance that comes from a Library or book filled room. for some reason I don't have a Library. I only have a few in The Sims 2.

  5. What if someone secretly kept a book under the table so they could pretend to faint and read? Then again I doubt anyone would actually go that far. I love reading too, and I do think we should encourage it. That is one of the upsides of Kindle and even iPods and other iDevices. No matter how you may feel about ebooks and the seeming death of the published novel, they ARE making it easier to read, and making reading more accessible. We just need people to take advantage of that now.

    1. I think if someone just pretended to faint people would rush over and notice the Kindle. I'm not a fan of electronic reading devices but yeah, if they get more people to read then happy days :)

  6. I totally agree, I love books, and I'd love nothing more than to sit reading all day long! There's nothing better than curling up with a nice book at the end of a hard day :)

  11. *clapping*

I couldn't agree more. I have always been and always will be a reader. There is no time I don't have a book I'm reading. I love that books are becoming "cool". I do think that ereaders have helped the younger kids get into books more. I personally have an ereader but still read actual books just as much. I love books in any form...even library books. :)

  14. I usually find reading pretty bland compared to the interactive world for example games offer. Still, it can play on the imagination very nicely if it's written well enough.
Also yeah the whole "you read you are not cool" thing is ridiculous.

    1. Don't get me wrong I love games too, I just think it's better for children to read as well - instead of playing video games all the time.

      And yeah, that is ridiculous

  15. Books are awesome. I love opening up a new hardcover book and the spine makes that never before opened crackling noise. I have been reading for as long as I can remember, and my parents told me before I could read I would sit down and pretend to read big books like the dictionary.

  26. I totally agree with everything you've posted!

I love books and really don't like the attitude that people who read are boring and nerdy!

You can't beat getting lost in a great story and then being able to discuss it with friends and inspire someone else to go read it too!
